I just went out on the patio to water the plants (having noticed one that appeared half dead, although most of the rest seem OK) and the spigot stripped out, in the on position. The hose does have a shutoff, but nonetheless it is dripping continuously. Which, given that we are having a water emergency here in the East Bay, is really not OK.
My usual handyman doesn't have an opening until Thursday afternoon.
So now I am looking on the internet and calling various random handyman phone numbers and hoping someone will call me back.
And trying not to cry. Because it is really kind of a stupid thing to cry about, right?
God I just hope it can be repaired without shutting off the building water...
Minor update: The drip has slowed, so I am feeling less panicky. But I do hope nothing *else* goes wrong today...
