So, on the wild off-hand chance that I actually have a choice:

Should I take the 12 weeks severance pay, or should I keep a job (all details TBD) with Oracle?

Hmmmm, depending on the stablility of the Oracle job being offered, I'd take the job.

Having a job at Oracle, even if it's only for a few months, definitely looks good on a resume.

Yeah, practicality dictates that if I can stay employed, I should.

Unfortunately, the chances are that I will continue to have very little information about the job's stability, or any other aspect of it that might matter to me (like where it will be located, or what kind of project I will actually be working on).

Really, I am just filled with dread either way: no job, or horrible job. *sigh* I keep telling myself it won't necessarily be horrible, maybe it will turn out great... but my pessimistic side is stronger right now.
