A gentle but fairly sustained jiggle. I know in theory it should be scary, but these little quakelets tend to cheer me up :)

Actually a rather big one, although it didn't feel huge from here.

Another day, another earthquake.

One big bang followed a second later by a little rattle. The bang, interestingly, sounded/felt like it came from upstairs. I would have thought it was just some Bad Thing happening in my upstair neighbor's flat if the rattle hadn't followed.

Consistently, I react to these small earthquakes by being first startled and then weirdly entertained. I suppose it will take a bigger one to actually put the fear of Mother Earth into me...

As previously noted by [livejournal.com profile] ztepfinat0r, there was an earthquake early this AM. From here, it felt very bouncy. It woke me up, disgruntled the cats, and knocked over a bunch of little stuff on shelves in the living room.

Earthquake, that is. Magnitude 4 point something, about 10 miles from here. There was one really big bang that oddly sounded as if it were upstairs, and then several seconds of rattling.

Earthquake, that is.

I have felt several earthquakes during the time I've been in the Bay Area (and one before that, another story) but feeling 3 quite distinctly within 4 days is a new experience -- and as far as I can see, all about the same size and centered on the same location (link likely to become stale, but shows the three in question at the top of the list right now).

(Updating just to add another link that is probably less interesting but more likely to last :)

ho ho ho. busy week for earthquakes.

(updating to say: these little ones aren't all that scary. except when you actually think about them being little ones, and start imagining what a big one would be like. *shudder*)

bang bang!

Earthquake. Who else felt it? (or heard it -- it was a loud one!)

OK, who felt it? Seemed like a longish one.

p.s. Hope North Bay folks are OK, it must have been scarier up that way...

Anybody else feel the earthquake that woke me up this AM?

Today's quake.
And I was just reading about earthquake insurance.

Update: just for reference, another sfgate article, which mentions the aftershocks that confused me so...

Just one jolt...

Why would that cheer me up? but it did somehow...
