My colleague snokrashe and I jointly won the prize for "Nerdiest Costume" at the IP halloween party, for which we dressed as IP lolcats.

( exactly how nerdy was it? )

The guy running the contest was actually trying to do it so that the choice for Nerdiest would be made from the pool of people who were runners-up for best costume -- but people in the audience actually called *my name*, demanding that we be added to the running. I feel so proud.

Halloween was good, stayed up so far past my bedtime it was frighteningly close to my usual getting up time... Got many gratifying double-takes on the eyes.

Glad I went to Vanessa's party, even though getting to Ocean Beach took f***ing forever, cause it was really good to see her, and I also had a nice talk with Charis (who I really haven't talked with so much before). Also glad I then succeeded in hooking up with Bunny Foo Foo (AKA babe magnet James), although that also took f***ing forever, and we never did get to the Castro -- but did see many fine costumes streaming down Market St, including a chance encounter w/ Ben & Wanda in their very fine Munsters getups! Yay!

Now moving very slow, but I think that's OK. Things that need to happen this weekend are basically a first pass at packing, some tidying up (because it's so nice to come home to not-complete-chaos), write out info for the catsitters, make sure I have all relevant UK phone numbers in my book, spend lots of time cuddling the cats... yeah, even moving this slow I should be able to manage this.

...white gloves at NY Apparel, and at the Goodwill a block down on Haight St, ( a purse ).

Also, apropos of nothing, once again jgcr has correctly predicted my taste in reading as I am completely enthralled by Cryptonomicon.

so glad this week is over. me tired.

BTW, plans for the trip are coming together well. soon I will actually need to start obsessing about packing :)
