Yesterday I spent a silly amount of time futzing with my budget, having managed to neglect reconciling my checkbook for two months, and coincidentally missing a bunch of entries in quicken, and generally managing to overspend & undersave & temporarily delude myself that all was in balance. Must be more careful, I got away with it this time, but can't really count on that.

Halloween party @ B&W's was fab. My costume wasn't all that special, but I did get the requisite number of doubletakes. (For those who missed it, when I got home I decided I really wanted a picture of myself in the blue wig. The effect was a little more interesting before the blue lipstick wore off, but me with short, straight, blue hair is just kind of... different :) Haven't yet decided whether to reprise the costume at work tomorrow...

Today I slept late(ish) and was considering a hike, but then realized that: I have a houseguest coming on Thursday, the place is a wreck, and there will be no other time to clean house. So I am posting this while taking a breather between vacuuming and dusting. I am in the kind of mood where I am appreciating how much nicer things look after I tidy up -- but also feeling slightly more hungover now than when I got up, possibly a sign that I should have a snack and drink a couple quarts of water!

Also filled out my absentee ballot, now I only need to mail it.
*briefly basks in warm glow of pride in own civic dutifulness*

Hmm, I think that is all the news that's fit to print, and then some. I guess I can't procrastinate any longer, back to (house)work.

Heh. Yes, this was the #1 question on Sat night.

The answer: I put my hair in two braids and wrapped them around my head so the hair was distributed, rather than in one big lump. I actually am wearing my hair that way again at work today, in anticipation of putting on the wig at some point -- but I got a compliment from someone who just thinks it looks cute this way! (probably a bit cutesy sweetsy for my taste, but maybe I should take a picture of this style as well, just for the documentary evidence ;)
