Apropos of very little, I have apparently become the kind of person who lusts after shoes. Even though I am still the kind of person who really can't wear heels. Therefore, someone I know should buy these shoes so I can live vicariously through you.

May. 3rd, 2009 02:25 pmMy dream home will have space for these bookcases, and these tables, and will be in one of these buildings (especially love #18).

Feb. 2nd, 2008 11:33 amI finally posted a couple of pictures of the new hallway light fixtures. I am pleased; they seem to me a great improvement.
Please admire my newly installed light fixtures (before and after pics). I am absurdly pleased with them.
Woke up in a good mood this AM, despite having lingering sinus foo for the first time since moving back to the East Bay.
And despite the fact that my main task for the day is vacuuming, which is officially my Least Favorite Chore. On my list of things to buy once I have income again: a robotic vacuum cleaner. Seriously. Because living in the 21st century has to be good for something....
Also, Oracle interview is scheduled for Friday. Plenty of time to work up a good case of nerves ;)
(James, don't forget to send me names. Is Katie still working there? Remind me what her last name is... Am I remembering her first name correctly? etc.)

Jan. 18th, 2004 03:00 pm...there always remain the consolations of rampant consumerism and escapist fiction.
AKA, a visit to Borderlands, where I bought two handsful of books that I honestly didn't really need.
(and got laughed at by the cute dread-locked guy at the register when I paid with my new amazon visa card.)

Picked up the contact lenses today, forgot to get the stuff to rinse them off with. ho hum.
( fraught but ultimately successful shopping followed )
Now, only a few accessories needed. Anyone know a good place to get white gloves in size large?
And the tough decision: should my nails and lips be painted black or red?

Oct. 22nd, 2003 08:11 pmThe afternoon did get somewhat better as it went along.
And I got to pick up my cool new sunglasses, whee!
( random babble about sunglasses )
OK, I admit it, I am easily amused.

rampant consumerism
Oct. 18th, 2003 05:34 pmSomething about the prospect of unemployment just makes me want to shop til I drop.
In the past 3 weeks I have acquired:
- a DVD player (about damn time, I know), and of course a few DVDs to go with it
- 2 dresses (well, I needed one to wear to B&W's wedding and I couldn't decide, and they were both cheap...)
- the usual steady stream of books
- Photoshop Elements, because I really needed to crop and resize some photos of my cats, and besides wasn't it about time I cleaned up the image on the index page of my web site?
- costume contact lenses (black spiral pattern), plus new prescription sunglasses
- a pair of black high-top sneakers with buckles on the sides!
Next up: a digital camera. Because, you know, I should have a digital camera for the trip to UK+
BTW, I am currently researching, and think I'm going to get either a Canon A60 or a Nikon 2100. If anyone has strong opinions about these or other cameras in the price range (~200$) please do let me know...
