mild (not wild) mood swings
Aug. 18th, 2004 11:14 amAfter being remarkably calm, philosophical, and unemotional on Monday, yesterday I was feeling rather glum. Also a bit headachey, but that was sinuses, not state of mind. I did have a nice lunch with Ilen and her ex-co-worker Robin, nice despite severe logistical difficulties. Note to self: when planning lunch, always, always get all other party's cell phone numbers.
Then drove to Concord to acquire a Fastrack transponder. (Instant gratification, vs. applying online and then waiting a week or two for the widget to arrive by mail. Not that I had a strong reason for needing to get said widget right now, just something about needing that extra dollar for each bridge toll makes it seem more of a nuisance...) Although Concord is not actually very far from Oakland, this did involve navigating on unfamiliar stretches of freeway, something I still find unduly stressful. Which had the effect of making me brood about how much I wish I could find a job that didn't involve commuting by car every day. *sigh*
Well, another day, another mood swing. The kickoff of the AP work is proceeding slowly because the person I'm working with has been sick, but it is getting started.
Also, I have the all day mega-marathon interview at TN scheduled for Monday. I am collecting reasons why it would be a good thing to work in Mountain View, e.g., various friends live there and might be encountered after work, easy to get to BayCHI meetings, um, there must be more...
