Working at home today, actually a bit more productive than most of this week has been. Which isn't saying much, but what the heck. It's not every week your company gets swallowed by its evil rival becomes part of such a dynamic and competitive enterprise.
Took a lunch break and wrote out xmas cards (now writing this while on hold waiting for a conference call to start, ho hum). All but two done. Of course, I keep thinking of more people whose mailing addresses I even don't know, but never mind that for this year... Maybe I'll do a last-minute email barrage.
Cross-cultural experience for the day: The construction workers on the site next door are playing soccer. Hispanic guys. They sound completely different than anglo guys playing sports. There's all kind of high-pitched trilling sounds and ai-yi-yis. I am finding this oddly entertaining.
And BTW, I will be having a party in January. I'm thinking the 15th, long enough after New Year's for folks to recover some, soon enough that my birthday won't be a fading memory. Please to mark date in calendar now, I want no excuses.
