challenging
Jan. 18th, 2005 02:25 pmThe construction workers at the building next door are operating a jackhammer (or auditory equivalent). The dog upstairs is howling and thumping.
My head hurts.
On the other hand, I have a cat in my lap. Which is mildly distracting, but pleasant.
Update, half an hour later:
I looked out the window and determined that the noisemaker was in fact a jackhammer, but not your average hand-operated-by-a-burly-guy jackhammer. No, this is some mutant cross between a jackhammer and a backhoe. No wonder it's the auditory equivalent of having an ordinary jackhammer right here in the room with me.
Update, 2 hours later:
Noise level has abated slightly, headache has not. In fact, I am feeling maybe a little feverish, too. *sigh* Good thing I don't need (want) to go anywhere or do anything tonight.
And I hereby give myself permission to quit work for the day...
