jaeclectic...to beautiful Pittsburgh, PA, where the current temperature is 18 degrees F.
As usual, the mix is about 50% anticipation, 50% dread. Seeing my family is always... well, it's fine when I'm there, sometimes actually fun, sometimes mildly dull. But there are still all kinds of emotional overtones that are neither fun nor dull.
Still, it is good that I'm going. I fret about not seeing my father often enough. He is now 80, and looks incredibly old and frail.
And everything else that's going on can just be put out of my mind for a few days. Sort of.
