today's hiking stats
Mar. 26th, 2005 07:02 pmAnother hike at Redwood: 6 miles, in approx. 2 hours 20 minutes. Surprisingly fast, but much of the route was fairly flat: I took the Stream Trail out to Trail's End, then backtracked to Starflower -> Madrone -> Redwood Peak, but instead of continuing on the Redwood Peak trail, I came back on West Ridge -- and finally figured out how to get past Chabot Space and Science Center without walking through the parking lot :)
So overall: a little less distance, significantly less elevation change (and therefore less time) than last week. Which is good, I planned to back off a little this week, maybe push for a bit more distance next week.
Mind you, this was after approx. 3 miles of city walking in Oakland and Berkeley (1 mile with minimal load, 1 mile carrying 5 books, 1 mile carrying 8 books. I guess if I was really keen I would weigh them!)
