mid-weekend report

jaeclecticI did end up going out last night: Went over to Steph & Badger's and drank a cup of green tea while watching Steph put on makeup, then attempted to go to Maggie & Mike's but instead went on an extended tour of Pacifica with parts of Daly City and San Bruno, before eventually giving up and heading to New Wave City. Which was fun, although not quite the peak experience of last month, perhaps because fewer people I knew were there, perhaps because the DJs weren't quite as good, perhaps just lower energy level on my part.
Speaking of low energy, I should really not have had that third G&T.
Of course woke up at 6-something today due to the forces of habit and a certain restless feline; refused to get up and drowsed until just after 9, when I was finally compelled to arise by a fine combination of raging thirst, menstrual cramps, and worry about the stack o' chores that really must get done today. Which of course I have not yet started, since I am instead sitting here writing this while waiting for the combined effect of coffee, ibuprofin, and breakfast to infiltrate my nervous system.
Must do: laundry & packing, taking trash out, assorted misc. housework (hate, hate, hate coming home to a mess, therefore must clean before leaving, this makes sense doesn't it?). Really want to do: this weekend's training hike, since yesterday's walk wasn't supposed to count; also, finishing configuring the backup program on my computer before I forget again. Will almost certainly not get to: returning the scale I bought last week, which I have concluded is no more reliable than what I already had and therefore not worth it. Not even on the radar: joining folks who are going to see Sin City.
OK, backing slowly away from the computer. And where did I put my coffee cup...
