It is hard to deny that I have a cold, but the combination of large doses of zinc and vitamin C, several cups of "gypsy cold care" tea, and close to 10 hours of sleep, seems to have blunted the worst edge of the symptoms. Touch wood. In fact, I feel OK, and I'm rarely actually coughing; the main symptom is that my voice is very froggy (i.e., even deeper and more gravelly than usual, although when I first got up this AM it was faint and squeeky and I feared full-on laryngitis).

Other than that, I made OK progress at work yesterday, and hope to do the same today. Mind you, in theory the document I am working on should have been done this week, but I don't think anyone but me remembers that, and guess what: I don't care! Whee!

I don't have much planned for this weekend, which is probably a good thing. I am, however, going to yet another (probably odd) dance performance with Jen this evening, this one from Cambodia. This is the fourth of four tickets to Cal Perfs that we bought this season; so far one of them has been spectacular (Peking Acrobats), one excrutiatingly boring, and the third one OK, enjoyable if not thrilling. I am optimistic that this one will be somewhere in the OK-plus range, since the blurb says the choreographer is trying to make traditional Cambodian dance accessible to a "contemporary" audience, i.e., short attention spans like mine.

Time to dose myself with more tea and vitamins, I think. Onward...
