ending, not with a bang

jaeclecticIt's 20 minutes after 9, and I'm dawdling at home because I can't face the tedium of sitting in the office all AM waiting for lunchtime. Cartan, my best (remaining) buddy at PSFT-ORCL, just sent me an email saying he's staying home sick today. Fooey.
I should note that I did dutifully check my work email when I arrived home yesterday, just in case some kind of fire drill had arisen; and although there was a flurry of emails indicative of fire-drill potential, the matter did get resolved without my intervention. Thus, I am utterly without remaining responsibilities, other than returning my laptop...
I did invite a number of people to lunch today, but don't have any idea who will show up.
Ah well.
