A couple of weeks ago I got an email from a recruiting company who were obviously using some kind of automatic keyword matching system and had not reviewed the matches to observe that it was in fact my current job that they were offering me. But you know, it really does sound like a perfect job for me. For anyone who may be curious, I append the job description:

The role of the interaction designer is to design, test, and specify requirements for user interfaces and user interaction models. Design work will mainly focus on (but is not limited to) graphical user interfaces for web-based applications.
Primary Responsibilities:

Prepare user interface specification documents consisting of wireframes, conceptual models, process flows, navigational maps, mockups, and/or interaction flow diagrams.
Synthesize input from product management, engineering, quality assurance, customer support, systems engineers, customers, and other interaction designers to design and refine features.
Contribute to, define, and enforce a user interface style guide that encompasses all externally-facing Client's applications.
Become an expert user of all Client's products and services so that you can quickly assimilate planned new features as they are being designed.
Work with usability specialists to define, plan, and execute usability tests.
Directly edit application source files, HTML and CSS.
Required Experience And Skills:

The ideal candidate will also have strong visual design skills and experience rapidly prototyping visual designs for analyzing large data sets.
An understanding of Internet and email standards, UNIX system administration, enterprise networking and security is a plus.
3+ years in a senior information design, user interface design, human factors engineering, or information architect position.
Proven track record developing, delivering, and documenting high-quality user interface designs for technically complex web-based applications or UNIX system administration tools.
Exceptional writing and communication skills.
A Bachelor's degree is required.
Personal Characteristics:

Understanding of limitations in user interaction of command line interfaces, web-based applications, and thick-client applications and the ability to tailor designs for each medium.
Business awareness: The successful candidate will be able to discern larger issues in the user interface design of applications from smaller ones in the context of Client's overall business objectives and will concentrate resources accordingly to maximize efficiency.
Excellent oral communication: The successful candidate will be equally comfortable engaging senior directors, product managers, senior engineers, power-user system engineers, customer support engineers, and QA staff in order to design elegant and useful interfaces

It was March 05 when one of their recruiters called me, and by then I didn't recall ever having heard of them.
