It does seem that the computer is now moderately stable, and with functional anti-virus, firewall, and perhaps even backup software -- although I determined that my CD-burning program broke in the upgrade, so I can't make a recovery disk, which makes the backup capability somewhat moot...
Bah. Still way too much of my day today, not to mention yesterday evening...
Other than that, yesterday had a lovely lunch w/ eac, jgcr, and bulieb, and stopped at Borderlands which always makes me happy. Also saw my chiropractor, with the result that my knees are enough better that I did go to the gym today (and btw, I scheduled another appointment with her for next Saturday, taking no chances this time).
I also went to an open house, another loft complex near JLS. There were two units open, one of which is way over my price range and the other is a little small, but interesting data points nonetheless.
Oh, and there is going to be a BayCHI East event (sadly, conflicting with the IA summit, which I wasn't thinking about when I picked the date). The story: we got an email out of the blue from someone who has a DVD of the Gel conference and was looking for a public venue to show it and wondered if BayCHI East would like to sponsor. And I thought, wow, that sounds so easy, and I've been wanting to get BayCHI East started again -- so what the heck! Now of course I'm nervous about it, but I'm committed, so there you go.
Now I am trying to think of something very soothing to do this evening, so that I get a chance to chill out just a bit before diving into another work week... mind you, I still have laundry in progress, so I suppose I just need to decide between picking out a DVD or continuing to read the Lemony Snicket books...
