I started to re-read Poul Anderson's The Boat of a Million Years (an old favorite, spanning as it does the historical fiction and SF genres, with some wish-fulfillment immortality fantasy for garnish), got 8 pages in and was distracted by my book-club book, Middlesex (which was great fun even though ultimately a bit unconvincing), then went back and read the Anderson after all.
Now I'm in the middle of re-reading the first 10 Lemony Snicket books, having just acquired 11 and 12, in preparation for the publication later this year of the finalé 13. Yesterday was kind of a Snicket-fest, between BART rides and an evening at home in the armchair, blew through vols 6 through 8, and started 9.
