rather nice, rather mellow weekend

jaeclecticSaturday: Woke up early and got done the work I had planned to do; picked up my car from the shop where (to my surprise) they didn't charge me for the service (warranty was up in November, but I didn't ask); did the grocery shopping; went for a walk around Lake Merritt since (astonishingly) it wasn't raining; did the vacuuming; spent a quiet evening curled up with a book and the kitty-cats.
Sunday: Slept a little bit later if not exactly late; dawdled most of the AM; went to the gym; took the cats to the vet for their check-ups, which found them in fine health; drove into SF and had high tea with eac, joined after a while by jgcr, and got to see their new place which is very nice; walked two blocks in the rain to say hello to the Pacific before heading home; saw several rainbows during the drive back to Oakland; was greeted at the door by a frantically meowing Lena (not the usual greeter) who evidentally was not mad about being taken to the vet, but perhaps feeling a bit insecure; more reading and cat-petting ensued.
Not feeling quite ready for the weekend to be over, but not dreading work either. Also: one work week plus two days until my wee vacation.
