books, as always
Jul. 4th, 2006 09:30 pmOnce I got into it, Catch-22 went a lot faster -- the first chapters felt so disjointed, I could only read a few pages before needing a break. In any event, I managed to finish it safely before the book club meeting.
And my fellow book club members took an interest in the next book I had started, Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point. So I am well ahead of the game for this month's book club meeting.
So, I've been indulging myself in very light reading, or I should say re-reading, starting with some old old favorites: Silverberg's Nightwings and Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, followed by a dose of Lois McMaster Bujold -- the first two Chalion novels, yum, and I see that there is now a third which I must acquire. Now continuing the old favorites trend by re-reading the first of Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's St Germain novels.
Kavalier and Clay still waiting...
