another day, more dithering
Sep. 30th, 2006 01:07 pmI seem to have reached a state of calm, which is good, but I am not being *extremely* productive. Which is perhaps the better course of valour, not sure.
The guy came and installed the new blinds this AM. I believe I like them -- although strangely, in the interim I had been getting to like the vertical blinds in the bedroom, if not anywhere else -- just the fact that I could slant them so that I could stand on one side of the room and feel like the window was blocked, but when lying in bed I could see the trees -- but I may be able to approximate this effect with the new horizontal blinds, and they are much more compact which is nice.
While he was doing that, I sorted out, or semi-sorted, the stacks of paper on my desk. I had stacks of paper on the desk at LMH&A, which I then hastily packed and moved rather than sorting first. The stacks have since blended and merged. What a mess. Also, I have not done anything with my September budget since the 7th. Erk. Kinda need to get caught up there. But I can't say I feel like much doing that right now.
Other (minor) things that have gotten done: Hung a few more pictures. Moved the printer into the office and connected it. Downloaded the song "Steady as she goes" by The Raconteurs.
Other things that need to be done: Re-arrange the file boxes in the office closet so that I can actually get at stuff. Organize masses of stuff that I unpacked in the bedroom and just stacked on top of the dressers. Still a bit of actual unpacking left to do, although not that much, maybe 5 boxes? (4 of which are books or videos). Continue furniture shopping. Call about getting the tub re-enameled. Take down the CD shelves and put them back up properly. Buy a baby shower gift for Anne W (that's Anne from Black and Blue Tattoo, for those who may recall her). Grocery shopping, laundry, etc. Lots of cleaning. Lots of et cetera.
Or, I could go sit and read for a couple of hours. Tempting, but I will probably save it for later. Onward.
