uneventful
Jul. 2nd, 2007 02:15 pmI arrived safe and sound yesterday, after a flight that was slightly more comfortable than expected, since I got upgraded to business class -- possibly pure chance, or perhaps because I spoke nicely to the person at the counter and made a point of showing my British Air frequent flyer card (that I haven't used in a decade).
Heather and I found each other at Heathrow without difficulty, and in fact getting through the airport was much smoother than you'd expect given terrorist incidents etc. Since then, we've:
- driven back to Suffolk
- had lunch
- went for a walk with the dog
- watched Allan make a very lovely supper
- ate the supper and drank a great deal of wine
- slept for a long time (well, I did anyway)
- had breakfast
- made various attempts to reach a couple of other local friends, culminating in driving to Leiston and dropping in unannounced on my friend Shelagh, since we found her address but not a phone number
Sounds exciting? well, no! But very pleasant and relaxing :)
Now I'm home alone while clan Patrick attend a funeral. Another walk may follow... although it's raining, so we may just huddle inside instead until it's time for the next superb meal.
Meanwhile, for some reason I thought we were going to France on Wednesday, but it's actually tomorrow. So I won't have time to get bored, really.
