new year, (minimally) new hair cut?

jaeclecticA few weeks ago, when I had just gotten my bangs trimmed, one of my friends commented by saying "oh, you got your hair chopped". I was a bit startled by this phrasing which seemed (unintentionally) unkind, but I had to grant its accuracy.
I now have freshly trimmed hair again, and noticed that my hair stylist has reverted to completely ignoring all the requests I've made of her (repeatedly), such as asking her to feather the bangs instead of trying to cut them straight across, which Just Does Not Work with my wild erratically curly hair.
On the plus side, this hair stylist has all the following going for her:
- conveniently located
- reasonably priced
- pleasant
- provides exactly the services I want (alternate between bang trim one time, wash and all-over trim the next) without making me feel like she's doing me a favor
- never nags that I ought to do something different and more interesting with my hair
- remembers my name
- as an extra special bonus, has never shown any inclination to ask about my love life and then scold me because I'm not dating anyone
(all of which are factors that have been lacking in one or more previous hair stylists)
On the negative, there is the way she cuts my bangs, the result of which is mediocre in the extreme. And, as noted, she is apparently unable to absorb my hints and/or outright instructions unless I repeat them every time, which is wearing.
So anyway. I either need to try someone else, or gird myself to be extremely vocal and repetitive every time she cuts my bangs. In a perfect world, I would like to find someone with all of the positives listed above, who could actually make suggestions that might make my bangs look *better* rather than just avoiding the "chopped" look.
Any suggestions?
