busy idleness

Spent most of the day unpacking / arranging, with a bout of shopping in the middle -- found a few useful things at Home Depot, not much luck at Bed Bath & Beyond (except for noting that they still have the type of shelf unit that I got there before, but I haven't decided if I want to buy another).

Also stopped at Trader Joe's while hungry, which resulted in the purchase of a silly amount of chocolate. In turn leading to a sugar high for the rest of the day, traditional for a holiday, right?

Put up a shelf in the utility closet (wouldn't trust it for anyting heavy, but it should come in handy anyway) plus finally put the towel racks up -- have a slight nagging feeling that I was supposed to ask permission before doing that, but I prefer denial -- if the building managers really are that anal, I don't want to know.

Just been trying to sort out books a bit. Got to the stage of thinking "oh no, this isn't going to work, I need another bookcase" which is silly, I already have more bookcases now than I had before I packed, the damn books didn't breed in the boxes... Therefore decided it was time to stop for the day.

Deliberately not thinking much about jobs or money or the meaning of life.
