jaeclecticsmall trees,
perhaps crabapple
blaze white with blossoms
young redwoods
casually gesture skyward
birds flutter off the trail like
petals falling up
I intend
to let sadness evaporate
like sweat
to cast it away
leave the space empty
instead
this poem
floats to the surface
