OK, two phone interviews down. As noted previously, it took some phone tag, but I managed to get both of the people who wanted to talk to me on the phone.

The first one sounded like a great job, but the pay rate was about 2/3 of what I want (need).

The second one was an amiable conversation, but I mostly provided information about myself, as opposed to getting information about the job. The guy kept getting interrupted by other calls, and before I could get around to asking any questions, said that there was really someone else I needed to talk to about the technical aspects, and she would call me. Except that in between all that, he asked for my rate. So my suspicion is that I won't hear from them again.

Oh well, it is good practice. And, you know, attention.
