the deed is done
Sep. 18th, 2009 06:15 pmI adopted two cats today. They are the two I'd seen online a couple of weeks ago: a brother and sister, both grey, boy with longish hair, girl with short hair. Both very cute.
I decided to go see them (after the fruitless morning of NOT closing on my refi) and he climbed right into my lap. She was a little more reserved, but also very sweet. So, predictably, I was sold.
They are a little older than I would have preferred (6yo), but in good health, touch wood. And they've had a kind of hard life, weren't well cared for in their previous home, and I'm such a sucker for a sob story...
I don't like the names they came with, or to be more specific I really don't like his name (Simba, which to me connotes a shoddy cartoon lion, although I guess it is actuallly Kimba I'm thinking of). I had been thinking Seamus for him and Nora for her -- but now that I've met them, Nora seems OK, but I'm just not sure about Seamus. I'm thinking maybe something slavic -- Niko or Alexi or Gregori or Misha. Hmm...
I have been trying to take some pictures, but don't have any very good ones yet. (Also tried to take video of the purr chorus, but I'm pretty sure that didn't come out at all :) In the meantime, they are still on the SPCA website here:
