a mild headache...

jaeclectic...and a bad case of the fuckits. Therefore, having duly considered the following factors:
1. my irrational anxiety about the errands that I didn't get around to earlier in the week,
2. the fact that everything I need to finish at work before I leave on vacation is well in hand,
3. the fact that I don't want to start anything at work that I can't finish before I leave on vacation,
4. my irrational anxiety about leaving the cats alone too much (based on the facts that I am going out tonight, going out tomorrow, and leaving town next Wednesday),
5. the aforementioned headache,
6. the fact that as long as I remain (to quote my old buddy Frank) "a highly-paid, scum-sucking contractor", I might as well take advantage of the flexibility that status allows,
I decided to leave work early. Am now home, having stopped at Walgreen's and the corner market, and plan to spend the afternoon making fruit salad and planning travel stuff (while keeping my Sun email open, just in case anyone is looking for me).
Therefore, despite the lingering headache, feeling much better now.
Now late afternoon, didn't do much travel planning but the fruit salad is done, I made reservations for dinner, and I've put on several coats of black nail polish. An unplanned afternoon off can provide an amazing amount of decompression...
