here goes nothing

Today, I will mail the packet accepting the ORCL offer of employment. As it happens, this very day would have been my 4-month anniversary @ PSFT.

But I have decided that I really should start job-hunting in earnest (as opposed to just thinking about it and deciding to wait until after pink-slip-or-not day). This may sound stupid, but I was really annoyed to figure out that I will get less time off under ORCL rules. Fewer holidays, fewer vacation days (although they do have a sane sick-time policy, that doesn't help me much cause I really don't tend to miss much work due to illness, touch wood). When I left (W), I promised myself I would never take a job that offered less than 3 weeks of vacation time. And now I have one.

Also, Sarah just made it official that she's quitting. As have various others, but I will really miss having her across the hall. *sigh*

As for fewer vacation days, silly girl, don't you remember how you always come down with that flu that goes around leaving you bed-ridden for atleast a week? ;)
