where does the time go?
Feb. 5th, 2005 05:21 pmToday has been dedicated to chores, since I intend that tomorrow will be dedicated to brunch and getting a massage and generally lazing about.
Somehow, almost all of the day has been taken up by finding most of what's needed to do my taxes -- which somehow I did not expect to take so long, although I should have. Fortunately, my appointment w/ K is not until next week, since I realised today that I don't yet have my PSFT W2. Somehow I hadn't noticed, what with all the other forms piled up. By my standards, last year was a complicated year, earned-income-wise: Sun then unemployment then AP then PSFT.
Aside from that, I started the day with a minimal amount of job-hunting (replied politely to an email from a recruiter, applied for one job on the baychi list, updated my dice and monster listings w/ fresh resume and availability=now), and in between rummaging for receipts I did a couple loads of laundry (but haven't yet folded them). The job hunting part, BTW, was not fun. Exorbitantly anxiety-producing, in fact. Enough so that switching over to thinking about taxes instead was an improvement.
The walk around Lake Merritt that I meant to take didn't happen, and I can't say I'm feeling inspired by the grey dusk to hasten out now. But I do need to force myself to take care of grocery shopping... at the very least, I will be a happier person if I don't let myself run out of coffee... maybe I should walk to Peet's and trust that I'll fit in the rest tomorrow, somehow... or Monday...
Had vague thoughts earlier that maybe I would do something fun this evening, something being any one of: 1) actually going to that combo dance performance / chocolate tasting event, 2) buying a last-minute single ticket to the play at ACT that I kind of wanted to see and that ends tomorrow, 3) going to the Parkway, or 4) going to some other movie theatre. But at this point, unless I get a sudden burst of energy out of nowhere, I'd say none of that will come to pass.
Update: I did, in fact, put on my backpack and walk the mile and a half to the other side of Lake Merritt, bought a pound of coffee, and stopped at the grocery store as well, having concluded that my shopping list was short enough to manage in a backpack-load. My knees are twinging, but my mood is much improved by having actually gotten out of the house and moved around a bit. Not planning to do anything more this evening, however -- time to plant myself in the armchair with a book.
