lovely weekend cont'd
Mar. 6th, 2005 06:12 pmI do so love a good endorphin high.
Which is to say, despite a slow start this AM, and despite forcing myself to do some chores first, I did get my act together to go for a hike at Redwood Regional Park. Predictably (not that I thought of it until I got there), a lot of other people were doing the same, so there were cars parked all along the berm near the trail head, but I had the great good luck to pull up just as someone was leaving a nice shady space in the parking lot. Hiked about 2 hours [updated: having just checked the trail map, a bit over 6 miles], just about as much as the knees could manage, since I've been pretty much just walking on the flats since last summer.
The new boots are great, and are now extremely muddy since the trails were very sloppy. Yay for goretex!
Overall, what a great weekend. (Extra bonus points to
podle for not letting me wimp out on the dancing :)
I do feel a mild, pensive concern for
eac, who is probably even now arriving in the cold and barren wastelands, far from home and husband. It just seems cruel and unfair that she's not done yet. But it really is the home stretch...
Other than that: The major thing I didn't manage to get done this weekend was washing the car. Poor little thing. She looks so sad...
Now settled in for the evening. I plan to saute some asparagus, maybe wash my hair, finish the laundry, and cuddle up with the kitties...
*smiles beatifically*
Updating the update above: having checked more carefully, the hike distance was 4.78 miles. Note to self: don't try to do math in your head.
