when exercising, must remember to eat
May. 24th, 2005 09:57 pmAs noted earlier, today kind of dragged at work -- but I soldiered away until 5:30, then walked up to the gym for my appt with the trainer. Who turned out to be very nice, and who put me through a workout that I am definitely going to feel tomorrow, and in fact am feeling in my knees right now.
That went a little later than expected, not only dashing my fond hope of catching the 7:29 train, but in fact I had to racewalk to catch the 7:49 train (undoubtedly another factor in my knee soreness at this moment). Then it turned out that at that hour there's no timed transfer, so I had to sit for 10 minutes at Balboa Park.
All of which would have been no big deal except that I didn't manage to have a snack anywhere in there -- I wasn't hungry at 5:30 and after that I just never stopped moving -- and I am definitely not used to dinner being after 9 -- and I really do not cope very well when my blood sugar gets low. So, for instance, I was pretty darned cranky sitting there at the BART station, glaring at the sign that kept scrolling public service announcements instead of telling me when my damn train was going to come!
Of course, I'm home now, and have fed myself, and am starting to feel human again. I just need to figure out how I am going to work things on the evenings when I go to the gym, and either have a snack before I go, or carry something that I can eat on BART, or eat fast food in San Bruno and get home really obnoxiously late... *sigh*
Ah well. It's OK, really, nothing I didn't sign up for. In a few weeks, I'll have a good routine established.
