I crashed pretty early last night, and I believe I got about 8 hours of sleep in total, but I don't feel entirely caught up. Certainly this AM I looked & felt like I'd been punched in both eyes, and I'm starting to feel bleery again now.

This may be in part because I woke up at 4:30 AM from a nightmare which involved a very cute blue cartoon cat being decapitated, in order to be cooked by cruel men who were going to feed it to its unknowing owner. I don't think that really captures how horrifying this was in the dream, but in any case, it took me a while to get back to sleep.

It also may be that considering every other way that I've ratcheted up the pressure on myself lately, I just really need to make sure I get more (rather than less) sleep, rest, down-time, brain candy, kitty cuddling, staring vacantly into space... Not sure that's actually possible, what with limited hours in the day, but I need to remember to try.

Not this evening, however: I am off to the gym and still planning to stop for a drink in SF after that. But hopefully I will manage to sleep in tomorrow...

Update: made it to the gym, bailed on The Dubliner. Partly because I'm so tired, partly because my knee and ankle are very sore, enough so that the extra walking seemed like a bad idea. This is not boding well for the particular workout routine that the trainer gave me...
