brain vs. to-do list

jaeclecticOn the one hand, I got a decent night's sleep, and managed to cajole Ash-kitty into cuddling up and letting me sleep in until 9:30 (woo!) On the other hand, I woke up with a headache, presumably from clenching my teeth.
Now I am looking at my to-do list and yearning to sink into sloth and lethargy instead. Except, you know, I didn't do laundry last weekend, and I didn't pay bills last weekend, and I haven't vaccuumed in so long I really don't remember how many weeks it's been. So that leaves me trying to figure out if I can skip grocery shopping, which would probably be masochistic...
Meanwhile, I have an irrational urge to start fiddling with my LJ style settings -- which I haven't really been satisfied with since I changed them a few months ago because the style I had been using started behaving badly -- and seeing![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
eac's nice new layout is rather inspirational. Which would be fine except that it isn't going to get the vaccuuming done!
My brain is just craving down time. A nice fat interval with no to-do list in sight. So not happening.
Update, FWIW: After fortifying myself with a hearty breakfast of Thai green chicken curry (from Trader Joe's, only 4 days past its use-by date, yummm), I started the laundry, watered the plants, and proceeded to tackle the vacuuming. It's now just before 2PM, I just finished a hearty lunch of soy sausage and grapes, and I'm about to start on the bills (with the second load of laundry in the dryer, and a cat on my lap).
I may yet have a couple hours of slack time before heading to the movie. Or not, there's still that grocery shopping that ought to be done...
