indecision

jaeclecticSo I am thinking about going to Stern Grove to see Ladysmith Black Mambazo.
Part of me thinks: that would be fun, and a whole lot more interesting than vacuuming.
Part of me thinks: I really need to do the vacuuming, maybe I should do that first.
And then: I should get there early, otherwise I might not get an OK place to sit.
But: it's going to be sunny, how many hours do I want to spend in the sun?
And then: This would be a lot more fun with company, maybe I should just skip it.
But: fuck it, what should I do, sit home alone and wait for death?
Not to mention: I wish to hell I could find some better shoes, so I didn't have to worry that if I walk a couple of miles, I'll hurt myself.
I could wear my hiking boots, but then I'd be sitting on the ground with my feet going to sleep.
Blah blah blah.
This really shouldn't be so difficult. Either I want to go or I don't, right?
Update: well, I did go, after all that dithering. Of course was too late to get a seat with a view of the stage -- not even a distant or partial view. Funny how that detracts from live music. So anyway, I listened to the last half of Linda Tillery's set, which was very good, and then ate my snacks and read my book while waiting for LBM to come on, and then 20 minutes after they did, decided I was bored and might as well head home.
But I still feel vaguely satisfied that I got out of the house, and walked through a part of SF where I've never been, and checked out Stern Grove. Kind of like a scouting mission for some future time when I actually talk some friends into going and get there on time and all like that.
