return of the crush

So this is more like a non-update.

I just saw The Guy for the first time since mid-December. The past couple of weeks, we had been exchanging emails about a couple of work things, and yesterday we were both in Menlo -- and I decided to work late for a couple of reasons, one of which was (yes) that I wanted to see him.

So I walked into his office at 5 o'clock with a little agenda of stuff we needed to discuss, and he immediately launched into a 1/2 hour rant about how he's on the point of quitting because... well, let's just say the recent re-org has been even worse for him than for me (and he was probably happier before that, so the contrast is extreme). This makes me feel good because he thinks of me as a friend...

Really, no news. Just I still like him. Really a lot.
