future history meets the roman empire

In keeping with my current scrambled reading material -- re-reading Colleen McCollough's novels set during the waning of the Roman Republic, interspersed with Gwyneth Jones' White Queen trilogy -- not to mention that I've been re-watching I, Claudius:

I was quite entertained by this comparison of the Roman Republic / Empire with U.S. history / future. (I especially love the dynastic names of the future politicos.)

part 1: Seeing in the news that your company's CEO resigned a week ago. And, um, they just didn't mention it.

part 2: Walking by your boss' office and seeing that he is packing up all his stuff in big boxes. Despite the fact that nothing is actually known yet.
