ztepfinat0r informs me that she thinks evite is evil because they sell email addresses to spammers. Although I don't doubt ztepf had a specific bad experience which led her to this conclusion, I personally don't think this is true: first of all, I've used evite (and had my email addresses on others' evites) a brazillion times with no particular ill effect; and second, they are obviously making lots of $$$ selling ads to booze companies, so why would they risk annoying the cash cows?

OTOH, I do find that evite has pernicious effects on my psyche. Largely consisting of convincing me that every party I plan is doomed to failure, because (e.g.) in the first few days after posting the invitation, I get 9 nos, 2 maybes, and only 3 yesses. *sigh*

So anyway, if you think you are going to come to my party, please say so and give me that warm glow of security :]


Other than that: In general, it's been a quiet but pleasant weekend. The highlight was seeing Pride and Prejudice with Jen & Fredrik & Jen's friend Mary-Anna. What a lovely movie. Yes, I am a hopeless romantic, it's true.

Now I am going to run off and see another movie, Shopgirl, at the Parkway. Because why not?

I stopped using evite because the ads drive me bonkers and it loads too slowly. Our attendance will be unreliable, depending on the state of the weasels.

Happy party if we don't make it (of course, if we do, the happiness is assured, right?) ;-p
