Finished 'Notes from a Small Island' sometime after starting Mary Doria Russell's 'A Thread of Grace' (recently described in eloquent detail by
eac). Having just finished that in turn last night, I am now starting 'The Wizard of Karres', which should be extremely light, especially compared to 'A Thread of Grace', e.g. I confidently expect that none of the main characters will die.
For anyone who may actually be interested, 'The Wizard of Karres' is a belated sequel, written by different authors, to an excessively delightful fluffy little science fiction novel called 'The Witches of Karres' by James Schmidt, who also wrote the even siller Telzey Amberdon novels.
