Ha. Well, I was just thinking of the pool as "feature I will rarely use but must pay to maintain". But now I see that it's true purpose is "lure to bring friends over" :)
Something like that. For your amusement, picture Eva, James and me in huge floppy hats and sunglasses squabbling over every last corner of shade while Gen frogs around in the pool with various kids. Ahhhh, the pool. Though I doubt it's heated -- pity. Still! You're going to spend some time down there come those 95-degrees-all-week months this fall. I think I'll get you some of those foam rubber noodles for a housewarming present.
my first oakland apt. was about 5 blocks away on palm. its a nice neighborhood--safe, friendly, etc...much nicer than the closer to the freeway section i lived in second. i always went jogging over in that section. easy to walk to the lake, the movie theatre, restaurants, etc. fun!
