it's in there somewhere
Apr. 15th, 2006 09:58 amMy brain is a sieve. Except that metaphor's not quite right, I just know stuff is in there that I can't get at.
Case in point: I am idly shopping on iTunes, picking up copies of random pop music that's been entertaining me lately. And I remember that there was a song that caught my ears a couple of months ago. It was on the radio, and I caught a snippet of the lyrics and searched and found it. I remember finding it. I remember being surprised by how hip-hop the artists were. I remember being surprised that the song had been a big hit in 02 (?) because I had obviously been oblivious at the time. I have a mental image of the picture of the artists, two black guys. They're a duo who take turns writing the songs. And that's it. I remember nothing else.
Now, after finding a song I like, I would expect myself to have done one of the following:
- bought the single on iTunes
- put the album on my Amazon wish list
- bookmarked a related page in Firefox
- bookmarked a related page with del.icio.us
- written a note to myself on a post-it or other scrap of paper, which would be on my desk somewhere, probably
However, I don't seem to have done any of these, or if the last, I haven't yet found that scrap of paper.
*sigh*
This is going to be tickling my brain all day.

Date: 2006-04-15 08:10 pm (UTC)p.s. never did any more about that DVD, because its owner never pushed to get it back, so I stopped worrying. But I'd still like to borrow your recorder at some point and see if I can succeed in making a copy :)
