The Holiday Inn Select in downtown Montreal is a lot more stylish than the Holiday Inn Express in Harmarville -- but it does not offer in-room internet access. At all. Unless, I suppose, I had a dial-up provider and wanted to pay hotel room phone rates. Bah.
Which means I will have internet access during the day when I am wandering around CHI (and by definition, busy) but not at the hotel in the evenings.
I suppose there is a good chance that I will hook up with people here and be busy in the evenings, too, but yesterday evening was pretty darn dull.
Ah well. I am here, I am registered, I have had a cup of coffee (although I feel like I could do with one more), there is wireless access in the convention center, and the opening plenary will start in about 1/2 hour. So all is well in the world.

Date: 2006-04-25 01:45 am (UTC)Hmm, I eventually found wireless, but not free. But someone told me there are two Holiday Inns, maybe you're at the other one... In any case, I am just glad to be online!
It would be great to hook up, maybe have lunch, or just chat between sessions :)
