and so on

Yesterday afternoon consisted of 1) a mildly disappointing panel session on putting HCI into business use cases (some content was interesting, but the panelists were not very dynamic speakers, and they mostly talked about how it's already done at their company, whereas what I wanted to know was how to make that happen more at my company), and 2) a paper session on security, which was quite good, including a paper by Rachna who apparently is now at Harvard (which I didn't realize when I saw her at Jen-Fred-Wed).

Wandered through the job fair for a bit, but since I'm not job-hunting was really just looking for people I knew to talk to. Did say hello to Jason at the salesforce booth, and ran into Jose again (my old manager from PSFT). After a stint of email-checking back at the hotel room, went to the ebay reception which was extremely crowded and noisy.

I was about to give up and go sulk in my room when I spotted Scott with an ORCL crew. They all agreed that it was too crowded and noisy, so we went and had a couple of drinks in the hotel bar, followed by a very late dinner/snack at a different hotel. Lovely folks, really, too bad I just don't want to work for Larry...

Now I'm just killing a little time before heading off to "CHI madness" (the AM introduction to the day's sessions). For some reason, I just became aware that when I'm getting up here, it is 4 in the morning at home. Therefore I do not have a lot of email in my inbox, nor are there fresh posts on my friends page... I have an irrational urge to bang pots and yell WAKE UP!

Onward...
