Well, I certainly slept: conked out around 8PM, woke up around 2AM and had another shot of nyquil, and finally dragged my ass out of bed a little after 9AM.
Now sitting here sipping extremely mediocre coffee and trying to figure out if there's a word for feeling let down in advance of the actual event -- surely the Germans have a word for it, even if we don't?
Not to be overly negative; I am glad that I'll be seeing my Dad. I'm just still tired (too much sleep rather than too little? more coffee needed, for sure), still congested and coughing (I suppose another sudafed is in order, bah), and starting to bleed in earnest with attendent cramping (sudafed plus ibuprofin? plus more coffee. talk about your chemical cocktail, whee!) All of which makes me inclined to notice that coming across the country was a lot of effort for what's going to be 3 hours or so of visit...
I'm already sick of being sick. And I'm tired of hotel rooms. This is a perfectly nice hotel room, probably the nicest I've been in on this trip, but it's still a hotel room. And I miss my cats.
Anyway, it will all be good once I wake up a bit more. And tomorrow I come home, yay!
