underwhelmed, I suppose

jaeclecticMy accomplishments thus far today:
- Second look at condo on Perkins, measuring tape in hand
- Spent an hour or so fiddling with possible furniture arrangements in that space
- Checked out temporary housing option at Lake Merritt Hotel
Overall: The condo is nice enough, but I'm not feeling any spark. And it would need a comprehensive makeover to suit my taste (paint, carpet, lighting). And the layout doesn't seem to work very well for my stuff. All of which leaves me thinking, on the one hand: If I'm not feeling enthusiasm, I'd better give it a miss (yes! watch JA learn from her mistakes!). Yet, worrying on the other hand: Is nothing (realistic) going to please me?
OTOH, the Lake Merritt Hotel seems nice. I could definitely camp out there for a month or two. (But I didn't plonk down a deposit, because (leaving out mildly complicated details) it would effectively be non-refundable. Therefore it is not yet guaranteed that I will get a space there. One more minor stress point.)
Well, anyway. My remaining obligation for the day is to stop in on L&N's kitties sometime this evening. Since I took the day off, I now have the afternoon free for whatever. Something involving exercise seems indicated, and it is an awfully nice day out there, so perchance a hike... Because I don't want to end up feeling like I wasted a day off, do I?
