It was a good day today, in a wonky scattered kind of way.
Early early in the AM, I saw the dermatologist and got a mole removed, which means my back is now ready for my next tattoo :)
In the middle of the day, I spent an hour and change with my realtor, and measured two condos, one of which is actually very appealing. Sadly, I did not think to take along my camera, and the listing has no photos yet, but: I like the layout, it has nice light, I think it would work. It has an amazingly large fenced-in patio. It is a little over a mile from BART, but a nice neighborhood, right in the heart of Adams Point. The usual drawbacks of most units in my price range: no in-unit laundry, all-electric kitchen, beige carpet. However, since it is quasi-ground floor (over the garage, ground level at back of building, one flight up in front) they should have no reason to object to my replacing the beige carpet with hard flooring. And, no mirrored closet doors, yay! (The little things that mean so much to me.)
In between, I divided time between checking in with work (various email and IM queries and bug wrangling) and continuing the move prep (some packing, some discarding, and lots of time on phone or at computer to change addresses & cancel utilities). I worked about 1/2 day if you add it all up, and was present just enough to meet my (admittedly minimal) commitments and not hold back my coworkers. This felt astonishly more pleasant than trying to do one thing or the other, and worrying continuously about the part that wasn't getting done :)
Also, finally succeeded in selling one piece of furniture! Not one of the large ones, sadly, but I hope it is the beginning of a trend.
Also also: arranged to get keys at my temp home on Thursday noonish.
Definite feeling of progress, may it continue so...
