First and foremost, mazel tov to jgcr & eac, and welcome Kathryn! (will you go by Katie? inquiring minds want to know). Inquiring minds also want to know all the details of how it was that young K showed up before schedule, did she not turn over despite all the prompting, et cetera et cetera.

I did notice a resounding silence on my LJ friends list over the weekend, but since I was too busy to write, I just reckoned everyone else was too.

Highlights of the weekend past, mildly chronological but otherwise unordered:

Friday evening, finally saw anaguma's band, which is excellent. It was also lovely to hang out a bit with podle and vegasjohnny and zteph, although my energy level was not adequate to stay for the later bands. (As it happens, my period started in a big way on Friday, so I was feeling a bit drained.)

Saturday, I found a tile store that has tile very similar to what I had picked out, except cheaper and in stock. Yay!

Then I met some of my book club at Lake Merritt for a free outdoor performance of The Tempest. The performance was nicely done, the company was good, and there was lots of food and some wine. (Therefore, I did not make it to the gym on Saturday. C'est la guerre.)

Sunday was a T46 hike at Pt Reyes, to which I carpooled with some other women. This was fun but I did feel a bit out of place, esp when the one woman was talking about how she didn't want to date a particular guy who had never been married, because if he got to be in his 40s without marrying he obviously wouldn't know how to deal with a relationship with someone with a kid. Given that I didn't choose to say "gosh, I've never been married, maybe he's the one for me" or "maybe his previous long-term relationships were gay, like mine", I just sat there wondering if anyone noticed how quiet I'd gotten.

After that, managed to finish the grocery shopping, and the laundry -- after extreme difficulty getting enough change to do two loads -- Downtown Oakland on a Sunday evening is a wasteland, the corner store would only give me two dollars in quarters even though I bought something non-trivial, and I ended up going into the BART station and buying two tickets just to get change back. I still can't believe I packed my bag of quarters. *sigh*

Monday AM, I raced over to the condo early to be there for the phone repair person, who thankfully showed up earlyish in the 4-hour window. And then hung around waiting for the bathroom tile guys, who got lost. And then raced to work, tried to concentrate for a few hours, and did stop at the gym on the way home.

All of which is to say, I've been feeling very busy, and stuff continues apace. Today I am planning another slew of condo (primarily kitchen tile) related activities at lunchtime. Onward.
