I did manage to accomplish most of the necessary chores, including putting a coat of sealant on the kitchen tile grout (probably ought to do a second coat, perhaps Tuesday) and settling up with Alexis for the kitchen tiling and miscellany (thankfully, the invoice was reasonable, so Alexis and I can still be friends :)

Plus, you know, groceries and laundry and all that.

No gym however. Probably the better course of valour to give my knee a rest, anyway -- have I mentioned that my right knee has been very twingy?

Now I am giving some more thought to furniture arrangement. I have this notion that I want to do something a little different than conventional use of the floor plan would dictate: I am thinking of using the "living room" as a combination office and reading nook, and using the "second bedroom" as a TV room, which can double as a guest bedroom. Actually, TV plus exercise, since I don't think there will be room anywhere else for the stationary bike.

This means, of course, I won't really have a living room in which more than 2 people can sit and converse. But doesn't that usually happen at the kitchen table, anyway?

For the most part, I think I could make this work, but it is a bit challenging, especially with the long stretches of heater-radiator-whatsit along the walls. I am just trying to figure out if I can make it work well enough that I'll like it.

Mind you, the conventional arrangement (keep the futon in the living room, put all the desklike things in the second bedroom) is similarly challenging.

I really do have a lot of furniture. Enough that I don't think I am crazy to be anxious that the place will seem very crowded when all of my stuff is in it.

Anyway. It doesn't really matter if I figure all the details out in advance -- and it's probably impossible to do so, in truth -- but to the extent I can make a first good guess, it will save me dragging furniture around all next weekend.

Because the move is actually coming up! Thursday! I just have to get through a couple more days of intensive contractor-wrangling, interspersed with 3 days of my day job, and I'll be moving in! Yippee!
