Yesterday I just about did in my back -- I don't usually have back trouble, but I pressed my luck a little too far, and my lower back went into spasm on the massage table. Poor L felt terrible, although of course she was not in the least at fault.

The massage was helpful, plus I took some ibuprofin, plus I went home and sat with a heating pad on my back for a couple of hours. And then went to the chiropractor today, and as expected *everything* was out of alignment.

Aside: the chiropractor said something like: Well at least you're moved now, you can relax, unpacking doesn't have to happen right away. And I thought but didn't say: Oh boy, you don't know me, do you?

Anyway, I am of course still pressing my luck somewhat, but not to the extent I did yesterday (e.g., I am restricting myself to pushing boxes around rather than picking them up :)

Right after the chiropractic appt, I rested by spending a couple of hours shopping, mostly at Targét, and acquired a new vacuum as well as miscellaneous hardware (hooks, door stops, a new colander which I didn't need but it is *blue*!). And then went and ordered blinds, which I hope I will like when they arrive because I am paying beaucoup bucks for the priviledge of made-to-measure and installed by someone other than myself! But I have to wait 3-4 weeks to find out -- ironically, the store name is "3-day blinds" but I guess with inflation it's become 3 weeks :/

Then came home, vaccumed the rug in the office, and moved all the office furniture around.

And the kitchen is mostly unpacked, although still sadly cluttered. I am using an old kitchen cart and a random table in lieu of the new worktables I have yet to find. The kitchen cart is actually a very good size, but it is uugglay and besides, I want something that's open at the bottom so I can keep the cat food under it.

Babble, babble.

What else? I guess that's enough for one day.

Oh! forgot to mention the part where I started running the new vacuum without checking that the non-bag part was closed, and it seemed to be working, but started to burn itself up. Literally, smoke coming out of the vacuum. Things you wish the setup instructions would warn you about...

Also: note to self: must start fastening bookcases to walls tomorrow.

Now I shall go take a hot bath, taking one item of my chiropractor's advice, and checking out the new bathtub for the first time...
