start the countdown
Mar. 11th, 2004 07:58 pmStrangely enough, I feel calm and rather pleased. I know I've got nine million things to take care of between now and then, but I think I'll manage it -- and I think I'm making a good move. Dare I say, I think it will be fun.
I've made a start at sorting out stuff to get rid of -- got in the right kind of ruthless mood yesterday evening and went through clothes & shoes, filling trash bags with items not worn for a year and/or not my current size. (If anyone knows anyone who is a size 14-16ish kind of girl who might need business clothes or jeans or even random fabric... give me a shout before the weekend when I'll probably drop it all at a thrift store.)
Also arranged to buy some of the curtains from the previous tenants. On the one hand, I am not really big on curtains in general (or these curtains in particular) but this means I will not have to panic about sorting out blinds or screens of some kind by the time I move. Plus even if I take the curtains down, the curtain rods will be good to hang suncatchers or whatever.
Other than that... need to do some serious shopping. Furniture. Storage boxes. Rugs. Stuff. When does the weekend start?
Oh and in case you were wondering: No my contract has not been renewed, although it is very likely to be stretched by at least a week. I am just in the denial phase of the contract renewal cycle. The anger and grief phases come later...
