Mar. 29th, 2007 08:51 pmIt was an amazingly beautiful day outside today. So beautiful that when I managed to get outside for a 1/2 hour walk at lunchtime, I found myself smiling in pure joy. And the same thing happened again when I headed out to the gym this evening.
Also, on that walk, I saw both a great egret, and a very tiny hummingbird which buzzed around quite near me for a moment while I gawked at it (and idly wondered if the people further down the sidewalk thought I was an insane person gawking at something imaginary :)
Also: roses blooming. In March. You Are Here.
The work day was exceedingly full, but I got done all the stuff I wanted to get done (err, except that one email I forgot to send, never mind, tomorrow tomorrow...)
The weekend past was quite nice despite failing to make it to Osento. In addition to chores and a hair trim and shopping at the farmer's market, I did manage to fit in a hike up at Redwood -- it was a great day for wildflowers and for watching the fog blow over the ridge and then drift across the valley. (It was a not-so-great day for human being with deficient volumn controls, but never mind.) I've realized that I am consistently prioritizing exercise over sociability, which at some point will undoubtedly make me crazy, but for now I'm just enjoying the endorphin highs.
Same principle applies to the SIMS/iSchool alumni thing on Tuesday -- I got there quite late because I insisted on going to the gym first. Not my usual style, but it worked just fine. It was extra special nice to get to talk with James -- yes, actual *talk*, amazing!
OK, I think that's about it for now...
